Agro Solidale’s ITIA Network: A Collaborative Approach to Combating Poverty in Pagani
Yesterday afternoon, at the Pagani Unione Club, the S01_3 consortium “Agro Solidale” unveiled its Intese Territoriali di Inclusione Attiva (ITIA) project, a crucial component of the Campania region’s welfare system. This initiative focuses on alleviating the poverty affecting families in Pagani, Sarno, San Marzano, and San Valentino Torio. The project unites Agro Solidale’s staff, UniConsul, CISL Salerno, and Consorzio Italia in a joint effort to address poverty through targeted interventions. The program features three key actions. Action “A” provides crucial family support services, including in-home social and psychological support designed to enhance family well-being and children’s development, plus specialized tutoring for students facing learning challenges. Action “B” fosters empowerment and self-sufficiency through a dedicated guidance center and a comprehensive training program encompassing eight computer courses, digital photography, forklift operation, bartending, and two 114-hour assistant caregiver courses. Finally, Action “C” offers 19 inclusive social internships, under the 2015 State-Region agreement, to vulnerable individuals (with a €500 monthly stipend) and 16 internships for people with disabilities (also with a €500 monthly stipend), each lasting twelve months. A central hub, the Territorial Inclusion Center (TIC), located at Agro Solidale’s offices (Via Pittoni n. 1, Pagani), provides information, guidance, and support to individuals facing poverty and social exclusion. The presentation included the mayors of the involved municipalities, who praised Agro Solidale’s dedicated staff, and Regional Minister for Social Policies Lucia Fortini, who highlighted the significance of social networks in poverty reduction. Minister Fortini underscored the regional government’s four-year commitment to social policies, urging attendees to protect these achievements. Detailed project information and application forms will be available on Agro Solidale’s website (www.agrosoldiale.it) starting tomorrow. Applicants can also seek assistance from the social services offices in the four municipalities.
