Salerno Marittima Station: Showcasing Success at Cagliari’s Italian Cruise Day

On October 18th, Salerno Marittima Station will participate in Cagliari’s Italian Cruise Day, a pivotal event for the cruise industry. This prominent showcase will highlight the station’s remarkable achievements in 2019 and unveil its ambitious plans for the coming year. The event offers a unique platform to demonstrate the station’s accessibility and user-friendliness, solidifying its position as a vital hub for maritime travel. It serves as a key meeting point for cruise lines, tour operators, terminal management, municipalities, port authorities, and all stakeholders in the maritime sector and sea-themed tourism. The participation aims to foster strategies for continued growth in 2020. “This is an invaluable opportunity,” emphasizes Orazio De Nigris, CEO of Salerno Stazione Marittima SpA, “not only for the maritime station itself but for the entire Port of Salerno, the city, our province, and indeed the entire region.” De Nigris, along with President Antonio Brigantino and Giuseppe Amoruso, representing Salerno Cruise srl, concur that the Italian Cruise Day will serve as a prestigious platform to showcase 2019’s impressive figures and, more importantly, the station’s offerings for the year ahead. The station’s strategic location provides seamless access to Salerno’s historic center, serving as a convenient departure point for excursions to iconic destinations like Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii, and Paestum. In 2019, 95,000 cruise passengers disembarked (compared to 73,000 in 2018), with 75 cruise ships docking at Molo Manfredi. The station facilitated 160,000 ferry and hydrofoil passengers, a figure that swells to 700,000 when including the Masuccio Salernitano terminal. “In Cagliari,” concludes De Nigris, “we will demonstrate Salerno’s potential to become a leading force in the cruise industry.”
